SATENA Arrives in La Guajira for the First Time with a Regular Commercial Operation Connecting Barranquilla and Riohacha Starting February 13

SATENA, Colombia's national airline, announced the official opening of the Barranquilla–Riohacha route. This new aerial connection will strengthen mobility, tourism, and economic development between two strategic cities in the Colombian Caribbean. The operation will begin on February 13, 2026, with three weekly frequencies on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This opening represents a historic milestone for the airline, as it marks the first time SATENA operates a regular commercial route in the department of La Guajira. This significantly expands its presence in the northern part of the country and reaffirms its commitment to national integration.
The route will be served by ATR 72 aircraft, state-of-the-art equipment with a capacity for 70 passengers. These planes are designed for efficiency, reliability, and comfort on regional flights, allowing the airline to meet increased demand and facilitate a constant flow of travelers between the Atlántico and La Guajira departments.
The opening of this route addresses the need to improve regional connectivity in the Caribbean. It facilitates travel for tourism, trade, social, and business purposes, contributing to the strengthening of the region's economic corridors.

As part of the launch, the airline announced the following promotional rates: Barranquilla to Riohacha: Starting at $154,900 COP (web sales) and $185,480 COP (in-person channels).
Riohacha to Barranquilla: Starting at $155,600 COP (web sales) and $186,180 COP (in-person channels).
These values apply to purchases made between February 10, 2026, and March 9, 2026, for travel from February 13 to March 16, 2026.
