SATENA's destinations to be featured in a new public television series

Bogotá, february de 2026

SATENA, Colombia's national airline, will be featured in a new audiovisual series produced alongside RTVC. The production will travel through various territories across the country to showcase destinations, communities, and stories that are only accessible by air.

The production, which will be broadcast on Señal Colombia, will use SATENA’s flights to ten historically remote regions as its narrative core. Each episode will take place in one of these territories: Nuquí, Tumaco, Villagarzón, Mitú, Puerto Carreño, Corozal, Inírida, Buenaventura, Aguachica, and San Vicente del Caguán. In these locations, air connectivity serves as the catalyst for telling stories of identity, community work, culture, and social transformation from places that can only accessible by air.

"This series reflects what our company represents for the country: not just an airline, but a public service that connects territories, brings opportunities closer, and gives visibility to regions that rarely have a space on national television," stated Major General Óscar Zuluaga Castaño, President of SATENA.

The series' format will blend travel documentary language with territorial chronicles. Chapters will show the entire experience: from boarding the SATENA aircraft and flying to non-traditional destinations to landing in communities where air transport plays an essential role in local development. The production will feature stories related to community economies, local talent, cultural tourism, and social processes supported by institutional efforts.

The airline will serve as the official transport for the production, facilitating the crew's travel to various points across the country. This partnership highlights its regional route network, which currently connects areas of the Pacific, the Amazon, the Orinoquía, and other regions with limited land transport options. This participation aligns with the airline's mission to fly where others do not and to contribute to the effective integration of the national territory.

"For us, this alliance with public television is an opportunity to show the real country we serve every day. SATENA's destinations are also settings for human stories of resilience and the future, which deserve to be told and recognized," added Zuluaga Castaño.

The series will have a weekly broadcast on Señal Colombia and a complementary presence on RTVC’s digital and radio platforms, expanding its reach to national and international audiences interested in Colombian territory, culture, and diversity. With this initiative, SATENA reinforces its role as a social airline and a strategic ally of public media, contributing to the creation of narratives that recognize the country's wealth from its regions and position air connectivity as a key tool for development and social cohesion.

About SATENA:

SATENA is the state-owned airline of Colombia, founded in 1962. Since its inception, it has played a fundamental role in providing air connectivity to remote and hard-to-reach regions of the country. Its primary goal is to provide air transport services to isolated communities, fostering socio-economic development and tourism. Throughout its 63 years, the airline has successfully expanded its route network, connecting cities and destinations that were previously unreachable for many. Its commitment is based on "reaching where no one else goes," offering essential air connectivity for activities such as trade and medical care in remote areas.

Con una visión alineada al interés público, SATENA ratifica su misión de volar donde nadie más vuela, consolidando la conectividad aérea como una herramienta para cerrar brechas territoriales y sociales en Colombia.
